Lee Academy enrolls early childhood through 12th grade. Our student body represents neighborhoods throughout the Tampa Bay area.
Average Student Population
The average student population ranges from 80 to 90 students campus-wide.
Depending on the class group, the ratio is usually 8 to 1.
We have assembled a professional faculty to implement our educational philosophy. The great majority of our full-time instructors have a State of Florida Endorsement in Gifted Education. They also receive training and attend conferences to keep up with the latest research in the gifted field.
Lee Academy has an active alumni community comprised of men and women located across the state and worldwide.
1983, half hidden beneath a canopy of trees, Lee Academy resembles a
beautiful rustic summer camp, situated on three acres of wooded lakefront
property. Here, a wooden veranda, gazebo and pergola overlook shimmering
Twin Lake, inviting investigation by inquiring young minds. Largo, a
friendly black Lab and school mascot, freely roams the freshly mulched
playground in search of scattering peacocks that also call Lee Academy home.
The campus includes a science lab, computer lab, art studio, outdoor
theater, playground and a series of non-institutional classrooms for the
many subjects and electives offered. In the back of the school, a garden
grows fruits and vegetables taken care of by the students. In 2012, Lee
Academy won a Splash grant from the Southwest Florida Water Management
District to enable this special project. The expansive outdoor wooden stage
welcomes a large audience for school-wide celebrations, such as the annual
winter performance and the spring Night of the Arts.
Lee Academy high school students participate in dual enrollment at University of South Florida. They earn admission into the most selective schools in the country. All of our students have gone on to attend colleges and universities.
